Can an AI Coach Fix My Form? An Honest Answer

Camera-based form checking is oversold. What AI can and cannot tell you about technique, and the four things that actually fix your form.

Short answer: not the way the marketing implies. Here is what is real, what is not, and what actually fixes technique. Pose estimation from a phone camera can track joint positions reasonably well for simple, flat-on movements in good light: a bodyweight squat facing the camera, a press, a lunge. It can count reps and flag a very obvious fault, like knees collapsing inward. - Judge bracing, breathing or where your weight sits in your foot. - See a rounding spine under load from a bad angle, which is most angles. - Tell a deliberate technique choice from a fault. A low-bar squat looks "wrong" next to a high-bar template. - Know what your shoulder did in 2019. That is why FitForge does not claim camera form checking.
